Ms. Anita is a dynamic entertainer, born and raised in Richmond, VA. She is known for her soul-stirring performances as a stand-up comic, actress, DJ, Jazz singer, author, and writer. An accomplished performer with training in professional dance, and videography. Ms. Anita began her journey under the mentorship of the legendary Bruce Bruce. She quickly became a fixture in Atlanta’s entertainment scene, hosting prominent events like Sweet Auburn Fest and headlining her own show, Saturday Comedy Nights at Champps in Alpharetta, GA. Her comedic prowess has taken her from Atlanta’s Punchline and UpTown Comedy Corner to New York’s Caroline's and Hollywood’s iconic Laugh Factory.
In 2010, Ms. Anita took to the stage in Sonny’s Place, delivering a memorable performance inspired by the classic style of Moms Mabley. She continues to act out The Old Lady character during shows. Her acting resume includes appearances in renowned Tyler Perry productions such as House of Payne and For Colored Girls, as well as the Lead roles in Fatal Attraction. Ms. Anita appeared in Being Mary Jane, and is the Co-writer/Producer of What Did I Just Watch Series 1.
With a soon-to-be-released novel, The Eyes Have It, a DVD of her stand-up performances titled Itty Bitty Tantrum, and collaborations with rising musicians.
